About Highly Aromatic Filter Coffee
Filter coffee is produced by brewing ground coffee beans using hot water and a filtering method. The aroma can vary depending on the type of coffee used in this brewing technique. For example, when some world coffees are used for filter coffee, a highly aromatic filter coffee can emerge.
Among the coffee varieties you can procure and use in Turkey today for highly aromatic filter coffee are Brazilian coffee, Honduran coffee, Peruvian coffee, Colombian coffee, Costa Rican coffee, African coffees, or special blends. It is also possible to obtain a highly aromatic coffee style by blending different coffees. For instance, a special aroma can emerge when coffees like Colombian and Ethiopian, or two different types of South American coffees such as Brazilian and Colombian coffees, are mixed.
What Should Highly Aromatic Filter Coffee Be Like?
While coffees produced under normal conditions and all world coffees contain one or two characteristic aromatic flavors, highly aromatic filter coffee should contain multiple harmonizing aromas in a superior way.
When looking at traditional coffees today, for example, a Brazilian coffee might sometimes have almond and brown sugar aromas. A different Peruvian coffee might have notes of raisin and apricot, or a Costa Rican coffee might have notes of red fruit and vanilla. However, when creating a filter coffee blend to achieve a strong aroma, the aim is to offer the consumer a different taste by mixing the two mentioned varying coffee types.
Highly aromatic filter coffee is primarily obtained with coffees whose strength, body thickness, grind size, and acidity are compatible. On the other hand, sometimes, for example, while Arabica coffee beans are grown in different countries around the world, the aroma difference arising in two different countries like Colombia and Brazil is completely distinct. This is because the altitude of the farm, rain conditions, sun exposure angle, and soil structure give the coffee bean a different aroma. In this case, a coffee bean obtained solely from, say, Ethiopia, can sometimes have a unique characteristic with multiple intense aromas.
A highly aromatic coffee should easily demonstrate this characteristic merely by its smell during brewing, and clearly reveal different aroma notes during consumption. In such products, obtained by mixing two different coffees ground to similar degrees, different beans are chosen and mixed based on compatible tasting notes. For example, while a chocolate aroma is obtained from Supremo beans from Colombia, a caramel and fig aroma is obtained from a coffee from Rwanda, and when these two aromas are mixed, a highly aromatic filter coffee of the desired style is provided.
How to Consume Highly Aromatic Filter Coffee?
Although the aroma and taste create a difference, since the coffee product in question is a type of filter coffee, this product can be prepared for consumption using machines or methods like a French press.
For example, when choosing a highly aromatic filter coffee that might be in our category, its characteristics can first be taken into account. For instance, people who prefer traditional full-bodied filter coffee consumption and espresso consumption can easily enjoy these types of intense aromas. In a blend created with the combination of chocolate and apple aromas, the tasting notes of these beans become more compatible through long roasting, and the coffee can be brewed by grinding finely.
If, for example, the V60 method is to be used for this type of coffee, a medium grind of 900 um can be done with ice water preference. Using 16 gr of coffee in 250 gr of water with a water temperature between 90 and 95 degrees ensures sufficient quantities for brewing. By gradually adding water and slowly combining the coffee with water, a very delicious coffee that reveals all its aromas can be obtained in an average of 3 minutes.
For this type of consumption, when making product selections, you can first review the types of coffee that contain the aromas you have in mind. By procuring coffee varieties that harmonize with each other according to your desired aroma notes, or that alone present the complexity you are looking for, you can perform the brewing processes using the method most suitable for you. At this point, Rumo serves in this category to offer you the option to buy highly aromatic filter coffee with the most suitable opportunities.
