About Brazilian Coffee

Brazil, one of the most important centers of coffee culture worldwide, is also one of the most significant countries, producing coffee beans that even serve as a source for Turkish coffee. Among aromatic and specialty coffee preferences, Brazilian coffee holds a special place in all countries of the world and in Turkey, with its flavor profile and evolving brewing techniques.

Brazilian Coffee

Although Brazil was known as virtually the leading country in coffee bean production in the 1900s, other countries partially managed to break this dominance in subsequent years. However, even today, Brazilian coffee holds a distinct position worldwide with its unique characteristics, taste, tone, texture, and flavor. Although the name Brazil is used as a general term for all coffee beans grown in the country, the coffee is primarily produced from Arabica and Robusta varieties.

In Brazilian coffee production, almost 80% Arabica beans are used, while the remaining 20% is produced with Robusta beans. With over 300,000 farms in the country, coffee is exported to every corner of the world. Considering Turkish coffee today, instead of the beans that came from Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula in earlier times, the beans for the coffee we consume daily are sourced from Brazil.

This coffee type, which can be easily and popularly obtained anywhere today, reaches our lands from Brazil; the rainforests and tropical hot climate throughout this vast country greatly contribute to coffee cultivation. Thanks to the geography and climate that have made the country such a popular coffee grower, one-third of global production takes place in Brazil, and there is even a coffee classification system that demonstrates high-level expertise in the country.

Brazilian Coffee Characteristics

In terms of quantity, the country produces two varying types of coffee beans, Arabica and Robusta, which exhibit differences compared to many other coffees worldwide. This is because the geography and climate of the growing region and the sensitivity of production to frost in the country create these differences. Today, the best-known variety of Brazilian coffee originates from the Santos region, which has the best climate in the country, and harvesting continues from May to September.

The general characteristics that can be stated for Brazilian beans can be expressed with the list below:

  • Beans grown in Brazil typically have a sweet characteristic.
  • The beans have a delicate structure and a low acidity form.
  • All coffees from Santos or other regions in Brazil have a very pleasant aroma.
  • Most often, tasting notes such as almond, brown sugar, and caramel can be found in the country's coffee types, and sometimes even a chocolate taste can be detected.
  • Production is generally carried out at altitudes above 1000 meters, and products made from green Bourbon coffee beans are frequently imported into our country.
  • While nuances such as cinnamon can be found in Brazilian products, a soft flavor is observed, and it can be consumed with low acidity.
  • The outer surface of the beans is oil-coated, but smoothness is observed.

How to Make Brazilian Coffee?

Various methods can be chosen for consuming Brazilian coffee; methods such as espresso brewing, French press, or pour-over can be preferred.

For example, if a French press is chosen for brewing this coffee type, it is possible to achieve a very practical drink. With a grind size of 1100 µm and water at 96 degrees, brewing is done, and 16g of coffee in 250g of water is sufficient. In terms of roasting, a light roast can achieve a smooth drink with low acidity and chocolate notes. With a higher roast, a toasted hazelnut flavor can be brought out.

When using a French press, your coffee, which is ready to drink in an average of 3-4 minutes, can be left to steep for approximately 4 more minutes, and then pressed to be fully ready for consumption. When using the French press method, waiting for the brewing time is the most important detail. Although brewing can be completed in an average of 4 minutes, waiting for approximately 8-9 minutes for consumption and then removing the sediment that forms at the top will fully enable you to obtain a coffee that will bring out the desired notes.

Sugar and milk are rarely added to this coffee, which is generally preferred for a plain drink. Brazilian coffee, which creates a very pleasant and easy drink in daily life, is among the single-origin coffee types and contains no chemical processes in its production. This is because it creates a unique and distinct aromatic taste, and when consumed with the correct brewing method, it greatly helps to relieve fatigue, especially in the body.

As is known, Turkish coffee has a relaxing, stress-relieving, heart-benefiting, and body-soothing quality, and our ground coffee, which we have obtained from Brazilian coffee for many years, derives its properties from this structure. Of course, excessive consumption is not recommended, but an average daily consumption of 2 cups can be preferred to enjoy a delicious taste and bring health to the body. From this perspective, varying grinding degrees and brewing methods can be chosen.

Where to Buy Brazilian Coffee?

Today, Brazilian coffee can be obtained in various ratios and grind levels with Rumo quality and assurance.

This coffee, which has a high import capacity in Turkey, can be obtained in varying quantities, either specially ground for French press, used in filter capsules with coffee machines, or in whole bean form. For drinks such as espresso, Turkish coffee flavor, or filtered coffee, a product type like Fazenda Sertao, for example, can be preferred for classic medium-dark coffee consumption. Within our category, you can always choose different product types with Brazilian coffee buy options.

Brazilian Coffee Price and Details

In this type of coffee, which has low acidity and a sweet aroma in terms of flavor profile, beans such as Santos coffee and Minas coffee generally stand out. These mentions are among the most important details in determining the price for Brazilian coffee. Each of the most important production regions of the country, such as Minas Gerais and São Paulo, produces Arabica and Robusta beans with its own unique climatic conditions.

The production region, the flavor tones that the climatic characteristics of the production region impart to the coffee beans, texture, and slightly varying acidity values are the most important details in pricing the coffee. While varying aromas have a significant effect on drinking quality, the grinding level and product quantity are the most important details in pricing. Thus, in the category we offer as Rumo, you can obtain products for Brazilian coffee at varying prices, taking these characteristics into account.
